Description
The painting Hammond Lane is taken from a series of photographs taken for an open submission for Dublin Port.
Hammond Lane is the building featured in the photograph. A metal recycling facility close to the entrance of Dublin Bay opposite Dublin Port.
The use of the camera as a way to capture the essence of the working port of Dublin and the life and industry that still exist there.
The transferring of the photograph to paint on to a canvas, a layering and thought process.
Working the imagery with oil and mixed medium of pure pigment to create an outcome of a matt style finish to my work.
